Certification & Quality

The standard

What does "certified MejorSet installer" actually mean?

+
MejorSet runs an official certification programme for installers. To become certified, we were trained by MejorSet's technical team in the correct installation procedures, tolerances and quality standards. We're periodically audited against those standards. Certification means the manufacturer will back the structural integrity of our work — and that you have recourse to MejorSet's technical team if any issues arise. Any installer can import MejorSet panels; only certified installers are authorised to say the court is built to MejorSet's specification.

Why can't I just buy a cheaper court from another supplier?

+
You can. There are cheaper courts available. The question is whether you're buying an asset or a liability. Courts built outside of FIP/MejorSet specifications often fail structurally within 5–8 years. The glass anchoring, the structural steel tolerances and the surface gradients all matter. A court that fails — or worse, injures someone — costs far more to deal with than the upfront saving. We're also transparent: we'll tell you honestly if a different option makes more sense for your specific situation.

Is MejorSet really the court used at the Premier Padel World Tour?

+
Yes. MejorSet has been the official court partner for the Premier Padel World Tour since 2022. The FIP Official Court model was used at the World Championships in Qatar (2022) and Dubai (2023), as well as the European Games in Kraków 2023. It's not a marketing claim — MejorSet earned that position by providing courts that meet the technical demands of professional play.

What is the FIP and why does their approval matter?

+
The FIP (Federación Internacional de Pádel) is the global governing body for the sport. Their "official court" designation is the highest technical standard a padel court can carry. It guarantees specific glass impact ratings, structural loading specifications, court dimensions and surface properties. A FIP-official court built by a certified installer gives you confidence that your investment meets the globally recognised standard — not just a local interpretation of it.
Costs & Timeline

The investment

How much does a padel court cost in South Africa?

+

Indicative ranges for a MejorSet court installed by Padel Craft:

  • Court only: From R 950 000 (on a prepared slab)
  • Court + civil: From R 1 250 000
  • Full turnkey: From R 1 600 000
These are starting points. Final pricing depends on the court model, site conditions (ground work required, access, drainage), civil scope, lighting and any custom features. We produce a detailed quote after the site assessment — no surprises.

How long does the installation take?

+
From confirmed order to a playable court: 33–45 days. This includes MejorSet manufacturing and shipping lead time (typically 3–4 weeks) and on-site installation (5–10 working days). Civil works run in parallel with the manufacturing lead time, which is how we compress the timeline. The 45-day figure assumes standard ground conditions and site access. Unusual sites or complex civil requirements may extend this.

What does the exchange rate do to pricing?

+
MejorSet courts are priced in Euros. The ZAR figures we quote are therefore subject to exchange rate movement between enquiry and order. We give you the Euro price at quote stage and convert at the rate applicable when you confirm. In a volatile Rand environment, this is worth planning for. We'll always be transparent about the exchange rate impact and give you a fixed ZAR price once you confirm the order — locking in the rate at that point.

Are there ongoing maintenance costs?

+
Every court needs routine maintenance: surface cleaning, glass inspection, hardware checks and eventual surface resurfacing (typically every 5–8 years depending on usage). We offer maintenance plans that cover annual inspections and preventive care, as well as rapid-response support if something needs attention. A well-maintained MejorSet court should last 20+ years before any major structural work is required.
Site & Models

Your specific situation

What are the site requirements for a padel court?

+

A standard padel court is 10m × 20m. The site needs to allow for:

  • Minimum 14m × 24m of clear, level ground (allowing safety zones)
  • Adequate drainage — padel courts cannot be permanently waterlogged
  • Sufficient access for construction equipment and material delivery
  • No overhead obstructions (power lines, trees) within the court envelope
  • Ground capable of supporting a reinforced concrete slab
We assess all of this at the site visit. Most standard estate, club and resort sites are suitable with relatively straightforward preparation.

Can the court be installed indoors?

+
Yes. MejorSet courts are available in both outdoor and indoor configurations. Indoor courts require specific ceiling height clearance (minimum 8m recommended) and appropriate flooring preparation. Many of the premium courts in MejorSet's global portfolio are indoor installations. If you have an existing building you want to convert, we'll assess the structural requirements as part of the site visit.

Which court model is right for a coastal location?

+
The X-Treme is specifically engineered for coastal and extreme environments. It uses 15mm safety glass and marine-grade corrosion-resistant materials throughout — designed to deliver a 20+ year structural lifespan even in the harshest conditions. If your site is within 5km of the coast, exposed to salt air, or subject to extreme heat or humidity, we'll recommend the X-Treme. The price premium over the standard models is justified by the long-term durability it delivers — protecting your capital investment for decades.

Can courts be branded with our logo or estate colours?

+
Yes. The Panoramic RC10 in particular is MejorSet's most customisable platform — frame colours, glass panel configurations and branding options are all available. All models allow for custom RAL colour finishes on the structural elements. Court surface branding (logos, sponsor markings) can also be applied at installation or retrospectively. We'll walk you through the options in the proposal stage.

Can we install multiple courts at once?

+
Absolutely — and we'd encourage it if your site and budget allow. Multi-court developments (2–6 courts) benefit from economies of scale in both the MejorSet order and the civil works. A 2-court development doesn't cost twice a single court — civil work is shared, mobilisation is a single event and installation time overlaps. If you're planning more than one court, mention it at the enquiry stage and we'll scope accordingly.
Process

Working with us

What happens on the discovery call?

+
30 minutes. We'll ask about your site (location, approximate dimensions, existing infrastructure), your goals (how many courts, target user, timeline), and your budget envelope. We'll give you an honest initial read on feasibility and likely cost range. If it makes sense to proceed, we'll schedule a site visit. There is no obligation at any stage until you confirm an order.

Do I need planning permission for a padel court?

+
Requirements vary by municipality, estate rules and property type. In many cases, a padel court falls within a standard site development or sporting facility application. We'll advise based on your specific location and the relevant local authority requirements. Estates and golf clubs often already have the necessary approvals in place for additional sporting facilities, or have existing precedent for similar structures. We'll flag the planning requirements early in the process so they don't become a surprise delay.

What do I need to provide to get started?

+
Very little at the enquiry stage. A rough site plan or aerial photo, your location, an idea of how many courts you want and a rough sense of your budget envelope. We'll handle everything else from there. The more detail you can give us, the more accurate our initial assessment will be — but don't let imperfect information stop you from starting the conversation.

Do you manage the full project or just the court installation?

+
We offer a full turnkey service — one contract, one team, from site assessment to opening day. This includes civil works, the certified court installation, lighting, fencing, landscaping, Playtomic booking setup, staff training and after-sales support. You can also engage us for court-only installation if you have your own civil contractor. We'll scope the engagement to match what you need — the key is that the court installation itself is always done by our certified team to the full MejorSet specification.
Still have a question?

Just ask.

We don't have a sales team or a call centre. When you contact Padel Craft you speak to someone who knows the courts, the installation process and the South African market. If we don't have the answer, we'll find it.
